Restorative Programs + Practices for Reclaiming Our Stories + Liberation

The Coven is a collective of Black and Indigenous storytellers, medicine keepers, artists, and educators committed to social justice, land-based memory, and ancestral ways of healing. Our Digital Wellness Program is a 6-week virtual healing space created for the voices and wombs of wild women seeking to reconnect with what was severed by colonization, enslavement, and displacement—and to remember what still lives in the body.

This cohort draws from:

• Black feminist thought (Lorde, hooks, Wynter, Hartman)

• African and Afro-diasporic herbal traditions

• Kitchen-table medicine

• Somatic abolitionism

• Performance as healing

• Oral tradition + testimony

• Midwifery and womb wisdom

• Community grief rituals

• Dance as resistance

• Writing as technology

WEEK I: How The Moon Led a Rebellion - Thursday 30th March

Practice:RETURNING TO THE BODY

Theme: Safety before story

• Black somatic grounding through dance, womb work, embodiment as resistance

• Locating numbness without shame

• Naming where grief lives in the body

Week 2: Remembering Sweet Grass [Thursday 6th April]

Week 3: Moonlight + Molasses [Thursday 13th April]

Practice:BLACK FEMINIST HERBALISM

Theme: The body knows how to heal

• Kitchen herbs as medicine

• Plants for grief, anxiety, womb care

• Herbal lineage stories

• Ethical sourcing + reciprocity

Ritual:
Creating a personal tea or tincture tied to intention

Week 4: A Yellow Flowered Plant [Thursday 20th April]

Practice:WOMB, SEXUALITY & CREATIVE FORCE

Theme: Reclaiming pleasure + power

• Womb as creative archive (not baby factory)

• Healing sexual shame

• Pelvic release

• Twerk, sway, spiral, stillness

Ritual:
Movement practice + altar building

Week 5:  If Pussies Could Speak  [Thursday 27th April]

Practice: GRIEF, WOMB WORK & INNER CHILD HEALING

Theme: We grieve because we loved

• Collective grief holding

• Ancestral meditation practice

• Naming who walks with you

Ritual:
Somatic movement

Week 6: Healing the Witch Wound - Thursday 4th May

Practice: EMBODIED FUTURES

Theme: Integration, not closure

• What changes now?

• Protecting softness in a hard world

• Building personal rituals

• Choosing community beyond the cohort

Ritual:
Waist bead tying ceremony

ENROLMENT CLOSING JULY 10TH.    

• All students will receive a digital welcome pack after registering, which includes a calendar + itinerary.

• The cohort commences on Sunday, July 24th 2022. and is held each Sunday for 6 Sundays. The closing session will be Sunday, August 28th 2022

• The sessions will be held on Zoom starting @ 7 pm and finishing by 9 PM

• Students will have 3 months of access from the date of the final week of the cohort to resources, recordings and replays of the program. If you are a member you will have unlimited access for the duration of your membership. Explore membership here

• Due to the expansive nature of the healing, education and medicine shared in this space, the cohort has a maximum capacity for attendees.  To guarantee a spot RSVP by Sunday, July 10th with full payment OR initial deposit of $555 USD

• Deposits DO count towards the total cost of the program.
